Indo Nissin and Ching’s did not respond to queries sent by the Express.Sources said these brands had been chosen based on an advisory to state food commissioners on June 9, which included 33 instant noodles brands which had been granted product approvals by FSSAI.This included Koka Instant Noodles of Ruchi International, three varieties of Wai Wai by C G Foods India, 10 varieties of Foodles, four varieties of Maggi Nutrilicious Pazzta with Tastemaker manufactured by Nestle, two varieties of Yummy noodles by A A Nutrition, Top Ramen Atta Masala Noodles by Indo Nissin Food, three varieties of Instant Noodles by ITC and nine varieties of Maggi for which product approval was withdrawn by FSSAI in an order in the first week of June.Meanwhile, food safety department officials said companies had been intimated about the test reports.At least 20 samples of nutraceticals, supplements, energy drinks, baby food and different types of chips collected from different stores in Delhi are also being tested, according to sources.If the companies contest the results, other samples of the same product batches which have been preserved by the department will be sent to Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI) in Mysore.
